Mandatory Military Service (Infantry division – Greek Armed Forces)

Served with the rank of private in the Hellenic military forces for 9 Months

  • Responsible for classified military digital document correspondence

11/2015 - 04/2016

Internship at Audi Production Lab - Audi AG, Ingolstadt, Germany

Regular Tasks:​

  • Development of an innovative, state of the art, virtual reality project

  • First hand development in virtual and augmented reality

  • Integration of latest technologies into one system

  • Design and programming with a strong emphasis on human interaction (HMI), network communications, 3D modeling, human skeleton animation and data conversion

  • Demo presentation to internal and external partners including Google, HTC Vive

Academic Experience

09/2018 - Present

M.Sc. & Ph.D. in Robotics and Autonomous Systems at the University of Edinburgh – Scholarship Award

Fully funded 4-year full-time scholarship award by the EPSRC and the University of Edinburgh in the Centre for Doctoral Training in Robotics and Autonomous Systems. Currently in the M.Sc. by Research phase, followed by a Ph.D. within the research area of virtual reality and robotics.

B.Sc. in Computer & Informatics Engineering

Applied computer science at the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Institute of Technology, Kavala, Greece

  • Grade: 7.37 - "Very Good" - Total of 240 ECTS

  • Offered scholarship for MSc in Advanced Computer Science due to academic performance and thesis

02/2016 - 09/2016

Thesis

Development of a fully autonomous Quadcopter (Drone). For the navigation and landing I used the image processing library OpenCV, which was calculated on a Laptop and transmitted through WLAN in real-time. Full autonomy was achieved with the use of a sophisticated and efficient autonomous path planning algorithm.

  • Awarded with distinction, Grade: 10.0/10.0 "Excellent"

09/2013 – 02/2014

Autonomous Based Robotic Project

Development of an autonomous fire-fighting rover vehicle based on the microprocessor Arduino Mega 2560 R3 within the course frame of “Engineering of microprocessors based Systems”. Responsible for the Architecture and Programming in a team of seven students.

  • Grade: 10.0/10.0 – “Excellent”

  • Award: Best project in that year
